Attic Insulation

Attic Insulation is your first line of defense when it comes to home energy
conservation, and a more comfortable home environment. Heat rises, and attic
insulation will dramatically reduce your home’s heat loss in the wintertime and
keep the summertime heat trapped in your attic and away from the interior of
your home.
According to the US Dept of Energy, up to 60% of a home's energy loss is
through the attic. The DOE recommends a minimum insulation value of R-38 in
the attic space.
Typical attic space that had not been re-insulated since it
was built.  The after shows an R-38 with cellulose insulation.
Why Cellulose?

Performance-
Cellulose provides higher R-values per inch than other types of  insulation. Cellulose
is a dense material, filling gaps and  voids, eliminating air leaks and providing
protection against air  infiltration.

Safety-
Cellulose has a Class 1 fire rating and will burn 35-55% slower than homes not
insulated or insulated with fiberglass.

Lower your monthly bills-
Cellulose will result in an immediate reduction in your heating and cooling bills
and an increase in your comfort.

Environmentally Friendly-
Cellulose is made of 85% recycled material.  It does not contain any irritants or
unsafe material. Unlike fiberglass you can  maneuver around in cellulose if you
need to access your attic.
What is sealing?

Many air leaks and drafts are easy to find
because they are easy to feel — like those
around windows and doors. But holes
hidden in attics and crawl spaces are usually
bigger problems. Sealing these leaks with
foam or insulated foamboard will have a
great impact on improving your comfort and
reducing utility bills.

We will inspect your home for common
areas left open to air infiltration.  This will not
only improve your energy efficiency but your
indoor air quality and comfort.

When insulation is correctly installed with air
sealing, it can deliver comfort and lower
energy bills during the hottest and coldest
times of the year.
